Alpine Strawberry - Improved

from 5.00

Fragaria Vesca
This alpine strawberry is selected for absolutely amazing flavor and larger size.  The wild alpine strawberry is known for great flavor, but generally tiny tiny fruits.  These have large (for wild type) fruits, with some of the best flavor you’ll ever get in a strawberry.

Excellent candidate for planting in ‘the wild’ of your orchard, forest edge, or even in the woods where other wild types grow.  It’s taller than the other wild types and can easily outrun them, or it can be planted in the formal strawberry patch for a unique and stunning strawberry flavor.

Size:
About 8” tall

Site Preference:
Rich garden soil in the sun, although it can handle woodland living and shade.  Can be planted where other wild strawberries are found to enhance your ‘wild’ foraging on your own property!

Hardiness:
Zone 5
