Plants for Spring 2019 Shipping

NOTE: We’re ‘closed’ for shipping for Spring 2019. We’ll update our inventory for Fall 2019 shipping around Summer Solstice. Check back early July, or look for a newsletter update that we’re open again. Thanks for your patience. We’re a tiny nursery and are trying our best to keep up with the interest and excitement over these wonderful plants!

Your order placed now will be collected, carefully packaged and shipped as bare root plants in the early spring when the ground has thawed but the plants haven’t started actively growing. For our climate this is normally sometime between later March and mid-April… We’ll email you shipping confirmation and tracking details as soon as they ship!

TIP: Use the tags above to help filter our offerings by characteristic (ie. click on ‘fruit’ to find any fruit bearing plants we offer, etc.) As we add more and more it is a helpful way to find a plant to fit your goals…

Geranium Macrorrizum ‘Bevan’s Variety’
This incredibly hardy, beautiful and potent plant has found its way to the base of many a tree at Edible Acres. Technically edible as well, we use this robust plant mainly as an very strong aromatic ground covering defender of young trees and as a boundary plant. It seems to do an excellent job at repelling herbivores while being a visual stunner at the same time.

At our zone 5B sites, this plant is very close to a full evergreen, with it’s intense aroma present just about year round. For burrowing creatures like voles and mice, a carpet of this plant as an understory to a young apple, chestnut, etc. can prove a formidable challenge. Topping off at 1’ makes it easy to design with in taller permanent perennial guilds, too!

Tops out at about 1’ and spreads indefinitely in all directions!

Site Preference:
Happy in a wide range of light from full sun to pretty shady, seems to enjoy a better drained soil.

Zone 3 or 4 (we’ve read both)

We offer single rootlets or bundle offerings to get you started with serious ‘thickets’ very quickly…
