Mint Root, Crosnes or Chinese Artichoke... Looks like a mint, although doesn't have a strong smell at all.  Resistant to browse like mint, but unique to this plant is tons of little white tubers formed underground you can enjoy fall through spring.  Dig them as you want them.  Shade tolerant, easy to grow, spreading but not in a scary way.  This is a fun plant to have and learn about!  Great potential for taller running ground cover for orchard contexts or under berry patches.  Simple push the mulch aside in the fall and winter to reveal the beautiful, strange little crunchy snacks!

2' when in full flower, generally almost a ground cover

Site Preference:
Seems tolerant of partial shade

Your purchase will get you at least one but most probably a few, rooted tubers ready to plant out and get established.  We include stringy roots as well to give you a lot to work with.

We are now offering a 'pack' for $20 which will give you enough roots (at least 5) to plant a solid little starter patch of plants.
