Raspberry

from 7.00

Rubus Idaeus
We all know raspberries (if not lets change that!)  Wonderful summer treat, easy to grow, and they make more of themselves each year!

Edible Acres is working hard each season to bring more varieties into our offerings to provide huge variation in flavors, shapes, and seasons of yield.  Our goal is to be able to eat fresh raspberries most days from late June to mid November, and it’s possible!  So many types to try!

Here are details on the varieties we currently offer:

Taylor

Absolutely massive fruit, amazing flavor, and on a nearly thornless stem.  This is an early summer bearing type, one of the earliest.

Caroline

Incredibly hardy, vigorous, large yielding plant.  A standard for production.  Makes very flavorful, nutrient dense fruits on upright canes.  Crops a bit in the summer and then heavily in the fall.  We’ve got them all through the woods and love it!

Perfume

Discovered at Edible Acres in 2008 as a single stem in the woods… Remarkable flavor, heavy summer yields and again some in the fall.  Truly perfume scented and sweet.  Perhaps a Boyne relative, but we’d like to think it’s a special new type from our woods :)

Between 4’ and 5’ on average

Site Preference:
Loves sunny site with rich soil, but we get decent production even into the woods.  Great candidate for the forest garden edge.
